BikingIn Thompson Okanagan, mountain biking is a fairly popular activity. This is because the topography of the area is very diverse and great for biking. The question is: where are the best places to bike and what can you expect while biking in this region?

What Can Bike Riders Expect

There are a lot of single bike rider trails that stretch through the deserts (which are covered in sagebrush. You also have the option of plunging down the steep rocky plains, if you are someone who enjoys more adventurous biking terrain.  There are a number of bike paths near the various lakes and rivers that are absolutely breathtaking.

Kamloops and Kelowna Trails

These two trails have attracted the bike riders of Okanagan for years. What you really need to decide is whether or not you enjoy doing a lot of pedalling. If you are someone who enjoys the plunge more than the pedalling, there are some great bike parks where you can plunge down the side of a steep hill instead.

Do You Like Wine?

If you happen to enjoy wine, you could bike along the nearly 150 different wineries in the area. It is a very scenic and beautiful biking path. This is especially true for someone who fancies themselves a nice bottle of wine. Just make plans to stop at one of the wineries and have a good time while you are biking. Maybe you can pick something nice up to take home with you.

The biggest thing you need to think about when deciding where to bike in this region is what kind of biking experience you have. What skill level do you consider yourself to be? For example, someone who is going biking for the first time should not plunge down a hill. It might kill your interest to go biking a second time.
