After a trip to Krasna Indian Cuisine, it is easy to see why it has such a good reputation in being British Columbia's most respected and authentic Indian restaurant.
Before you take a trip to eat here, it can be helpful to know what to expect. Here is a guide to give you a taste of what they have to offer in terms of food and atmosphere.
Atmosphere
The owners of Krasna are friendly and approachable, and sometimes they can be seen having interesting conversations with their customers. Krasna is festive during certain times of the year when they put on events for major Indian holidays, such as Hindu New Year, which is good for Indian locals or those that just want to experience some Indian culture right in their backyard.
The restaurant is open, so it is not that intimate. It would make a great time out alone, with a group of friends, or a casual date night though.
The Menu
The food can be prepared as spicy as.as you want it or don't want. They have some old favourites that anyone familiar with Indian food will be familiar with: vegetable Samosas (deep fried pastry with potatoes, onions, and peas), curry, vindaloo (curry made with coconut milk), butter chicken, and jalfrezi (meat and vegetables spiced and cooked stir fry style).
Krasna Indian Cuisine has their own specialty dishes too, such as Krasna Tikka Masala, which is made with cashews and a creamy sauce. Like a lot of Indian restaurants, Krasna is very vegetarian friendly.
If you have allergies, they are clearly stated on the menu. If you are unsure, feel free to ask the staff. They will customize it however they can to suit your needs.
You really haven't had Indian food until you've had Krasna Indian Cuisine. They have won awards locally, and their food has a great taste to both Indian nationals and non-Indians alike.
