Sometimes you do not want a full meal. Sometimes you want something light such as a sandwich and some soup. The question is – where should you go to get a nice sandwich and soup? Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich is a great place to consider. The next thing you need to think about is what to expect when you head there for your soup and sandwich.
What Does Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich Have To Offer?
The Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich is located in a plain red brick building on Lawrence Avenue near the intersection of Lawrence and Pandosy in downtown Kelowna. This unassuming little shop has been in the capable hands of Crystal Dougan and Steve MacDonald since 2011 and is the top rated restaurant in all of British Columbia. One visit will tell you why. Eating at Little Hobo is like sitting at home, eating the type of foods that your parents made (or that you wish they made).
What About the Food?
Everyone who visits has their own favourite day to visit. Daily specials draw in regulars who rave about their favourite item. Each day has a soup and a sandwich special, although Wednesdays are never the same. All of the soups are made from scratch onsite.
The two varieties of borscht are excellent, as is the hobo soup and the watermelon gazpacho. For sandwiches, Friday's hobo cheese steak does not disappoint, and Thursday's Holiday sandwich with its turkey and trimmings can satisfy your cravings during the holiday drought of summer. They also offer their soups to go in frozen 32-ounce containers, so if you love it, take some with you.
When you visit The Little Hobo, remember to bring cash, as they don't accept charge cards. Despite this quaint throwback, once you visit, you'll want to go back time and again just to try something new.
