Are you a Folk and Blues music fan who is looking for a super fun outdoor concert this summer? This non-profit charitable organization is one you need to know. The Salmon Arm Folk Music Society hosts the Annual Roots and Blues Festival held each August at the Salmon Arm Fairgrounds, which is located one block off of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Super Star Line-Up

There are more than 16 acts set up for the Festival in August. Current Swell, a star in British Columbia, will be there for opening night. Russell deCarle from the multi Juno award winners roots and blues music group, Prairie Oyster, will also be performing as well as Amos Garrett and Geoff Muldaur, just to name a few.

Are you a World Music fan? Then you will be pleased when you hear the kora master from Senegal, Amadou Fall, share authentic African Music. Also appearing is an Afro-Cuban style ten-piece musical ensemble that will beat out an amazing polyrhythmic sound.

There will be something for every music lover to enjoy.

Campers Welcome

The Festival provides pre-paid camping for a fee for travellers. The campsite does not allow pets, so please leave Rover and Fluffy at home, and there are no refunds given. You can, however give your camping spot to another person after you have pre-paid. A weekend pass is Friday through Sunday. They do offer day passes and children under 12 are admitted for free.

Don’t miss out on the 23rd Annual Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival. Come out and spend the entire weekend at the campground, meet new friends, and leave the world behind. The music groups mentioned only scrape the surface of the talent that will perform. You will not be disappointed and every music lover will be thoroughly entertained.
