The Wildlights Festival is coming to the BC Wildlife Park this December. It’s the 17th annual celebration and it’s a family tradition in the area. You’ll get to see 380 shimmering rope-light sculptures, plus enjoy wagon rides and a Laser Light Show.

They’ll have a Gingerbread House Contest going on that you can vote while you’re there. It’s going on daily from December 21th through January 4th, just in time for Christmas. Here is what you can expect at this year’s Wildlights Festival.

Event Features

The event is going to have 380 shimmering rope-light sculptures to see. It will feature over 600,000 twinkling lights and you can see them all by wagon rides. Try the Wildlife Miniature Train, the nightly Laser Light Show and the Giant Maze.

This year will also feature a gingerbread house contest. You can create a house of any size and shape and at the event, visitors can vote on their favourites. Make it homemade or use a kit. Voting starts on the 12th and ends on December 31st for the best gingerbread house.

First place prize will be a one year family pass to the BC Wildlife Park plus a VIP Bear Experience and second place will get a family day pass to the park and a private animal encounter. Third place will also be awarded a family day pass to the park. Be sure to deliver your house by December 10th.
