Established in 1968 as a family owned and operated grape grower, the Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery in beautiful British Columbia offers a wide range of white, red, and dessert wines. Boasting a beautiful tasting room with an outdoor picnic space with spectacular views overlooking Okanagan Lake, a visit is highly recommended.
What Kind of Wine Can You Expect?
Aside from a wide range of common wines, they also specialize in rare varietals such as Blaufränkisch and three types of ice wines, which are wines made from grapes frozen on the vine. They also have three different tiers for the wines: Estate Collection, Summit Reserve, and Family Reserve. The tasting fee is only $3 (and refundable with the purchase of wine), making this a fun, affordable, and delicious for every budget.
What Does the Winery Offer for Relaxation and Fun?
Utilizing the outdoor picnic space is free and easy. The website recommends bringing a brown bag lunch and some board games for a fun time under a tent with a stunning vista. They also host a variety of activities, including Art in The Park and “Stretch, Sip, and Savour” which advertises an hour of yoga, followed by lunch and drinks at the winery. It’s a great location for a girl’s day out, a couple’s retreat, or just a relaxing wine tasting catching up with friends and family.
If you plan on making a visit to British Columbia, a stop by the Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery is a great place to stop, relax, and relish the beauty of Canada. With a wine to fit every taste, you’re sure to find something to love. Be sure to check them out on Facebook or Twitter to find out more about the different events hosted by the winery.
