The Caravan Farm Theatre is an outdoor theatre company located in Armstrong, BC. It’s a professional company that has started its theatre on an 80 acre farm. It’s a national treasure that has become a favourite pastime among locals since opening in 1978.

About the theatre

The theatre is located outdoors and there is no theatre building. Productions have been set up all over the farm from inside the barn to the riding ring and the field to the pines. They’ve performed anything from Shakespeare to Brecht and even originals. Every year you’ll see a Fall shadow play, a Winter one-act sleigh ride show and a full length musical in the summer. The Horseplay and Cowboy King is an original classic.

The mission of the theatre was to create a meaningful and popular place to enjoy theatre for a diverse crowd of viewers. The original works are designed to reflect rural British Columbia life.

Shows & Visiting

You can see some great performances coming this year at the theatre. The Spring will bring “In Like a Lion” from May 7-10 and the summer show lasts from July 23-August 25th featuring “The Night’s Mare.”

The Theatre is located at 4886 Salmon River Road in Armstrong. You can purchase tickets at the Box Office phone # or online.

Being a non-profit charitable arts organization, the Caravan relies on the support of contributions from private donors and the public. Those that get a membership, the donation help support projects and the Theatre Artists Residency program. This program is designed to serve professional individual theatre artists and companies by offering a retreat to write, rehearse and develop their work. With the 80 acres of field and the ten wood-heated cabins and rehearsal room, there is plenty of space to get the job done.

Come see what all the fuss is about at the Caravan Farm Theatre in Armstrong.
