Okanagan Lake is located in the interior of British Columbia, between the Cascade and Rocky Mountains. This picturesque lake is 135 kilometres long and has a maximum depth of just less than 230 meters. There are several beaches and parks along the lakes perimeter, with swimming and boating very popular past times. Fishing is also popular, with rainbow trout and sockeye salmon making their homes in the lake. The most popular resorts take advantage of the combination of family activities, the view and the relatively mild summer climate.

Three of the most popular resorts near Okanagan are the Outback Vernon Lakeside Resort, the Lake Okanagan Resort, and the Sparkling Hill Resort. All three offer different types of experiences, depending on what you are looking for.

The Sparkling Hill Resort is the most upscale resort in the area, offering a deluxe spa treatment. A local nickname for the Sparkling Hill is the Swarovski Crystal Resort. The Lake Okanagan Resort offers a 9-hole golf course and two full size tennis courts for a fun couples or family outing. The most family friendly resort is the Outback with its exclusive Kids Camp program.

Osoyoos Lake

The Okanagan Area also includes the nearby Lake Osoyoos, which offers other resorts to consider. The Walnut Beach Hotel is highly ranked by visitors and offers a private beach and an outdoor pool. The Watermark Beach Resort has suites and secluded beachfront villas for a more romantic getaway.

No matter if you choose to vacation at Okanagan or Osoyoos, there is a resort that will cater to your needs. Pamper yourself at the Sparkling Hill, snuggle with your loved one at Watermark, or enjoy family fun at Lake Okanagan Resort or the Outback. When your next summer vacation comes, come enjoy it at Okanagan.
