Walkability comes up constantly when buyers are choosing between Kelowna neighbourhoods, and it is worth being candid about the city as a whole first: Kelowna is spread out and largely car oriented. Most neighbourhoods were built around driving, and a lot of the city sits on hillsides with the shops at the bottom. That said, a handful of areas genuinely work on foot, and the difference between them matters.

The short version: Pandosy Village is the most walkable neighbourhood in Kelowna, with downtown a close second. Lower Mission is the most walkable of the larger residential neighbourhoods and the best balance for families. Kettle Valley is the only hillside community designed to work on foot. Everywhere else, expect to drive for most errands.
